Three failed attempts to refurbish our old and loved CNC lathe then we found Capstone. It’s now operating well beyond the original manufacturers specification.
How we can help
Major refurbishments
Capstone have undertaken major machine refurbishments, with derelict machines brought to life and back into service. This is a labour of love over months, producing a longstanding asset at a low capital cost and with years of service ahead. Equally, connecting an aged machine to the most modern technology can revolutionise performance.
Service contracts
Prevention is better than cure, but the UK manufacturing industry is losing those vital skills of maintenance, lubrication and monitoring. Capstone provide the service, provide the security and also train and motivate to leave the customer with skills and programmes of work.
Breakdown security
Breakdown cover is an integral part of any service contract, even if seldom required. Capstone will provide emergency breakdown assistance as a precursor to a professional engineering approach to new customers in need.
Machine tool calibration
Capstone are experts in machine calibration across a range of machine types and brands. Regular calibration comes second only to regular service in the maintenance of high performance.
BEP and Capstone
BEP are a leading surface technology and electroplating business, innovating well beyond normal industry practice.
An extensive fleet of machines from across the decades had been continuously adapted to provide the ability to machine extremely large components to the finest of tolerance.
Struggling over years to find knowledge and expertise to support them in the maintenance and development of the machines and with a series of aborted relationships behind them, BEP found Capstone. This relationship has been so successful that in early 2020 BEP stepped in to support Capstone by providing the finance and the security to allow the Capstone team to expand, plan for future generations and ensure the survival of unique skills.
